Impact of Curing Methods on the Porosity and Compressive Strength of Concrete

An experimental investigation was conducted to evaluate the impact of different curing practices on porosity and compressive strength concrete. The targeted concrete at 28-day 20 N/mm2. Plain cubes were prepared with a mix ratio 1:1.5:3 by weight 0.6 water-cement ratio. A total 120 tested 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th 56th day periods for slump, strength. four methods used immersion, jute sack, plastic sheet sprinkling which all carried out in laboratory under same average environmental conditions 27 ± 20°C temperature 75% relative humidity. results from study showed that slump values within range 52mm 58mm is medium 25 100mm, hence true achieved. samples decreased age (i.e. dried state, immersion recorded lowest 4.35%, followed sack 5.25%, 5.29% 5.55%). Again, pattern increases density (immersion produced highest mean densities 2369 kg/m3, 2360 kg/m3 ,plastic 2277 2229 56 days) similar (i.e method yielded 25.43 N/mm2, 23.90 23.47 N/mm2 , 22.33 days ages respectively). Therefore, both cube function method. concludes has greater effect properties since it strengths. recommendation made further studies field this done control conditions.
